This study is good news for postmenopausal women, the ones at greatest risk for bone loss.
Waldwick, NJ (PRWEB) February 27, 2011
With bone loss a significant health concern among women of all ages, a recent report in the journal Nutrients found that postmenopausal women absorbed the calcium from AdvaCAL (AAACa calcium) better than from calcium carbonate. Fifty-seven percent (57%) more calcium was absorbed from AdvaCAL, a statistically significant improvement. According to the study authors, the "gold standard of calcium absorption" was used, dual stable isotope measurement. The study, conducted in Japan, involved ten postmenopausal women tested twice over 30 days. Participants swallowed either AdvaCAL calcium or calcium carbonate directly after a meal and then received a intravenous isotope injection. Urine was then collected for 24 hours.
The study, entitled :"Fractional Absorption of Active Algal Calcium (AAACa) and Calcium Carbonate Measured by Dual Stable Isotope Method, was published in 2010.
These finding are notable because previous calcium research had shown no difference in absorption among leading types of calcium, including calcium carbonate, when taken with food. In this dual isotope study, patients took AdvaCAL calcium and calcium carbonate after a fixed breakfast. Calcium carbonate is the most popular type of calcium sold today. It is found in antacids, flavored calcium chews, and in expensive whole food and algae calcium supplements. AdvaCAL is available in small, easy swallow capsules.
"These absorption results mirror other impressive research with AdvaCAL calcium in building bone density and reducing fracture risk." reports Andrew Lane, president of LaneLabs. "This study is good news for postmenopausal women, the ones at greatest risk for bone loss."
AdvaCAL is natural ionic calcium from Japan, comprised of calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide. The proprietary calcium is blended with HAI, an amino acid complex from seaweed. HAI has been scientifically shown to boost calcium absorption.
AdvaCAL is an official partner of the National Osteoporosis Foundation and has been recognized by two health magazines as a Recommended Supplement Choice.
LaneLabs -USA, Inc. distributes AdvaCAL in the United States. LaneLabs products are sold through natural food stores and doctor offices nationwide.
