Vegas hosts the nation’s most important Homeland Security event: The 6th Annual Counter Terrorist Magazine’s Homeland Security Professionals Conference – Palace Station Hotel – Las Vegas, Oct. 3rd-7th, 2011

Security Solutions International, publishers of the award-winning Counter Terrorist Magazine, will once again host the Homeland Security Professionals Conference and EXPO in Las Vegas, Nevada. This premier educational conference, now in its sixth year, is the place where law enforcement and security professionals meet to learn more about emerging threats and innovative technologies and solutions.

Numerous experts are already scheduled to speak at this year’s conference, including:

John Gidduck – author of numerous books such as Terror at Beslan, The Green Beret in You, and Shooter Down, the dramatic, untold story of the police response to the Virginia Tech massacre. Gidduck’s presentation will provide in-depth training on the dramatic differences between U.S. law enforcement hostage negotiation techniques and terrorist mass-hostage negotiations. This presentation is based upon decades of experience from Russia, the Middle East, the United States, and other locations.

Ebrahim Ashabi – author of the book Evolution of Radical Islam. Ashabi will provide a presentation like none other that you have seen before. He delivers his first-hand knowledge of the history and evolution of Islam; his expertise on Radical Islam offers insights not only for law enforcement but also for every person interested in comparative religion. He is considered one of the US experts on the subject, as well as having experience in combating terrorism both in the USA, while working with federal, state and local agencies, and also internationally.

Dr. Mauricio Lynn – a trauma surgeon at Ryder Trauma Center, and the head of Mass Casualty Preparedness and Response, both at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Dr. Lynn, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Israeli Defense Forces, where he served for 18 years, presents an exciting and vital view of the Israeli approach to mass casualties. His insider knowledge of how US communities work puts this program in the ideal US context. Many of the lessons learned from the Israeli experience were used after September 11th to better prepare Jackson Memorial Hospital to respond to MCIs. Having been on the scene of some of the world's worst tragedies (earthquake in Turkey, US Embassy bombings, airplane crashes, earthquake in Haiti, and more), Dr. Lynn understands MCIs and gives participants the benefit of years of experience in the Israel Defenses Forces and the Israeli Air Force.
