Golden, CO (PRWEB) February 28, 2011 –
With her 2010 Junior Nationals bodybuilding win, iSatori Technologies athlete and spokesperson Marina Lopez is helping transform what it means to be a professional female bodybuilder.
In recent years, female bodybuilding has seemed to be overwhelmingly extreme in muscularity, and because of that, it’s lost its appeal to the majority of women weightlifters and bodybuilding enthusiasts. But in the last few years, new judging guidelines have been introduced. Jim Manion (chairman of the Professional Judges Committee and NPC, National Physique Committee) made a declaration that women would be judged on healthy appearance, face, makeup, and skin tone. The criterion includes "symmetry, presentation, separations, and muscularity BUT NOT TO THE EXTREME!"
“When I first began lifting weights, I was inspired by Rachel McLish and Gladys Portugues,” shares Marina Lopez, iSatori Technologies athlete and spokesperson (http://www.isatoritech.com), “because they were very sexy and appealing. Their muscularity was apparent, but not overbearing. More importantly, they maintained their femininity. They combined beauty with aesthetically appealing physiques.”
Marina continues, “I was never inspired to try and become excessively muscular. I aspired to achieve a lean, defined physique that’s well-balanced, with muscularity, yet maintaining all of my feminine qualities.”
"Marina is a perfect example of a top-notch feminine bodybuilder,” says Stephen Adele, CEO of iSatori Technologies (http://www.isatoritech.com) and proud sponsor of Marina. “She’s muscular yet beautiful and appealing. An inspiration to anyone of any level who wants to sculpt a healthy, strong body.”
In 2006, believing she would not be capable of competing in bodybuilding due to the size and muscularity of the current competitors, Marina decided to compete in figure. But at her first national level contest in 2008, she was approached by the late Steve Stone. He explained that she had developed too much muscle at 124 lbs to compete in figure and recommended she cross over to bodybuilding again and become a leader in the transformation of female bodybuilding.
“I want to be a forerunner in this evolution within the sport of female bodybuilding. I want to be a part of bringing the sport full circle back to the feminine physique once again,” adds Marina.
“Being a part of the iSatori Team has inspired me to a higher level of commitment to excellence. iSatori is a leader in the supplement industry,” Marina shares. “Stephen Adele, owner and CEO of iSatori, has provided me with the best supplements, training knowledge, and nutrition information that are required for me to achieve my goal of one day competing in the Ms. Olympia.”
It is with great pride that iSatori commends Marina’s extraordinary efforts and FIRST placement at this year's Junior Nationals. “We are so very proud of her extraordinary efforts," Adele concludes.
