For over 11 years, we have partnered with set-top vendors, cable operators, and content providers to deploy technology solutions that enhance the consumer TV viewing experience
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 28, 2011
itaas, Inc., a leading software technology provider to the cable industry, will showcase at this week’s 2011 CableLabs® Winter Conference an innovative application which allows consumers to remotely control their set-top through tablet devices.
The application, being shown on both EBIF™ and native platforms, expands the capabilities of the installed base of set-tops to allow consumers to manage and control their TV video content through an iPad or other tablet, web-enabled mobile or desktop device. By harnessing the processing power and flexibility of these CE products, itaas can provide additional features such as enhanced search and discovery, remote management of DVR, impulse buying and transactional TV. The use of both EBIF™ and native guide control of the set-top provides additional flexibility for cable operators currently considering interactive options.
“For over 11 years, we have partnered with set-top vendors, cable operators, and content providers to deploy technology solutions that enhance the consumer TV viewing experience,” said Jim Elayan, vice president, marketing and business development at itaas. “Our priority is to simplify the development and deployment of applications for our customers so that time to market and service offerings can be more competitive and provide additional revenue opportunities.”
“This demonstration is another example of itaas’ engineering experience and expertise in multi-platform technologies that enable interactivity for cable, IP and wireless technologies across platforms such as tru2way®, EBIF™, iOS, HTML5, and Android™.” Elayan added.
