LightPointe, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-speed outdoor wireless point-to-point network bridging solutions, introduces a new addition to its high capacity wireless bridging product line. Dubbed AireLite G this new system combines the benefits of low cost-per-bit transport, high transmission security, and low total cost of ownership (TCO) in a compact and fully out-door rated system design.
The AireLite G product is based on the design concept of LightPointe's highly successful and very popular FlightLite product line, which is deployed in more than 60 countries and is one of the best-selling free-space-optics (FSO) products on the market. Operating over recommended distances of up to 500 meters, the AireLite G provides full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet throughput at fiber-like system latency. The low profile, Power over Ethernet enabled AireLite G comes equipped with multiple fiber and copper network interfaces, an integrated and user-programmable Layer 2 Ethernet switch, an integrated in-band or out-of-band web browser and SNMP-based management platform, signal status indicators, a built-in alignment telescope, and an integrated heater and lens defroster.
"The AireLite G product is ideal for customers looking for an affordable short distance Gigabit Ethernet connection between enterprise campus buildings. The system provides a compelling economic value proposition with a return on investment that is typically less than 6 months when compared to alternative high capacity leased fiber connections," says Heinz Willebrand, LightPointe President and CEO.
The new AireLite system adheres to internationally recognized laser class 1M eye-safety regulations and the system can be deployed anywhere in the world due to the license free nature of the optical transmission spectrum. The AireLite G system will be unveiled on the opening day of the CEBIT show in Hannover and shown to the public at the Pan Dacom booth in Hall 13, Booth C38 and at the Laser2000 booth in Hall 13, Booth B14.
