Digital signage and touchscreen directories are the wave of the future. With Interactive Touchscreen Solutions, Inc.’s Navigo Suite of products, the future is now.

According to the January 2011 article in Buildings Magazine, (http://digitaledition.buildings.com/buildingsmagazine/201101#pg18) more and more building owners and property managers are finding going digital is more than trendy, it’s also beneficial.

The article highlights the PNC Bank Building, the first Platinum Certified LEED® building in Washington D.C. ITS installed two touchscreen directories in the lobby. One system features the building tenant information and the other offers more information about the building’s LEED features.

“(PNC) wanted a secondary touchscreen to educate the public about LEED features of the building,” states Natalie Bobila, Vice President Sales & Marketing, in the Buildings article. “It had to be visually interesting and appeal to people who were going to come up and learn,” she continued.

Digital directories and signage can stand alone or complement static signage. From the initial call to the installation of the completed system, the team at ITS assists every client in creating customized digital directories and signage that will yield high usage and high praise from visitors and tenants.

Along with the environmentally friendly LEED features of the building itself, the Navigo Suite of Products uses Energy Star rated hardware components. Navigo solutions allow the building owner or property manager to prominently display their LEED status and goals on the system’s screen, thus earning a point on the LEED rating system.

Navigo solutions offer a unique combination of being cost-effective and user-friendly. Our systems operate as a means of general communication through notifications, advertising and tickers displaying current news, stock and weather information.

Trends are notorious for being here one minute and gone the next. That’s not the case with digital directories and signage, Bobila said. “Many property managers are experiencing the benefits of going digital. Our systems save time and money with every update. With our line of standard enclosures and ability to design custom enclosures, Navigo easily integrates with any décor and is user friendly. The fact that Navigo helps earn an additional LEED Point is a bonus for the managers and tenants.”

Whether new or existing, the ability to highlight their environmental efforts has clients eager to display their achievements.

The U.S. Green Building Council describes the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System as a means to encourage and accelerate global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

Buildings Magazine is published monthly and provides information on the development, construction, modernization, management and operation of buildings, as well as the products and services needed to support such facilities.
