Dream Dinners, Inc., the nation’s leading meal preparation chain, today announced the grand prize winners of its annual recipe contest that seeks delicious dishes perfectly suited as fix-and-freeze meals. Among hundreds of entries and rigorous taste testing, three top winners emerged and are featured on the March menu in more than 100 Dream Dinners’ stores nationwide. The winners are:

  • “Island Chili Steaks” by Micki Washington of Houston, Texas
  • “Penne with Chicken and Peanut Sauce” by Mindy Chubon of Atascadero, Calif.
  • “Chicken with Balsamic Fig Sauce” by Sharon Wong of San Mateo, Calif.
  • “Colorado Beef Roast” by Michelle McLeod of Wheat Ridge, Colo.

The winners took home top honors in the “meat,” “pasta” and “chicken” categories respectively, and each earned a $500 Dream Dinners gift certificate plus placement on the nationwide menu enjoyed by thousands of Dream Dinners customers. Two winners, Washington and McLeod, tied for first place in the meat category dazzling the judges with recipes that were not only delicious and healthy but that perfectly aligned with the Dream Dinners model.

The Third Annual Dream Dinners Recipe Contest accepted entries throughout the fall. Dream Dinners judges reviewed the top 10 recipes in each category and tested them for ease of preparation, taste and presentation to select the grand prize winners. Importantly, the recipes also needed to be good meals to freeze, as the popular Dream Dinners store concept makes dinner preparation easy by providing everything guests need to prepare a month’s worth or meals in about an hour, then take home to freeze and eat later.
