The Meadows Health Care Center also received this coveted Award of Excellence in 2010.

"Our community continues to meet and exceed our own high standards that we have set forth in the care of our residents,” says Gretchen Aichele, Administrator

The Meadows Health Care Center, a privately owned facility in Forest Park, has received the Award of Excellence for the second year in a row. This award had a “Perfect” score attached to it. The annual award will be presented by the Ohio Academy of Nursing Homes on March 8th at 2 p.m. They have received this award only after meeting or exceeding stringent nursing home requirements. They are one of only a handful of nursing homes who earned a perfect score. Annually, less than 5% of the more than 200 nursing homes receives this top honor. The mission of The Meadows Health Care Center, which provides services for short-term rehabilitation, long-term rehabilitation and permanent resident care, is that the residents always come first.

“Our community continues to meet and exceed our own high standards that we have set forth in the care of our residents,” says Gretchen Aichele, Administrator. “To receive this award for the second year in a row reinforces that the care we provide, and the criteria of excellence, is definitely provided by us for the people in our care. The exciting part of this review is that we had zero deficiencies, a perfect score. We are thrilled to receive this award.”

The Meadows Health Care Center provides much more than just physical care. They have a large Day Room where residents can go to hang-out and visit with other residents or their family members. They have a monthly Family Night, where all extended family members are invited to come; they have a monthly newsletter featuring their residents and employees; and they have visiting entertainment, Bingo or other games daily and religious services weekly. The Meadows believe that healing is a whole-body experience.

The Award of Excellence is presented to the Health Care Facilities and Nursing Homes in Ohio by the Ohio Academy of Nursing Homes, a 48-year old association which helps nursing homes reach the pinnacle of care for all residents. There are more than 200 nursing homes and rehabilitation centers that are part of that organization. Annually less than 5% of the facilities receive a rating of Perfect. That means the Meadows had no deficiencies on their review by the Ohio Department of Health during their annual survey. The Meadows is also active in providing representation to legislative bodies concerning the residents, membership and to all of the elderly and infirmed in our State.

The Meadows Health Care Center continues to add new and different programs for their residents while creating an atmosphere of care and concern. Every nurse, doctor and aid is taught to show their compassion and concern to each resident at the Meadows Health Care Center. They provide an immaculate facility and a comprehensive program of health and wellness for their residents.
