Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 4, 2011
Storm LLP today announced the addition of Robert O. Groover III to the firm. Mr. Groover brings extensive experience in patent application, prosecution, licensing, litigation and opinion work. He began a focus on electrical and semiconductor patent law at Texas Instruments, and has since worked as a partner for other firms. Paul Storm, founder and principal of Storm LLP, says “We are excited about the addition of Robert Groover. His skills and fine reputation are an excellent match with our firm to position us for future growth in intellectual property law with an emphasis on engineering. With Robert, we have strengthened an already excellent team of intellectual property professionals.”
Mr. Groover has recently concentrated in litigation-related patent prosecution, and has achieved some notable success in defending patents against reexamination. In his 30+ years’ experience, Mr. Groover has written more than a thousand patent applications (and prosecuted a much larger number), and has been involved in dozens of patent infringement lawsuits. A graduate of Yale College and the University of Texas Law School, Mr. Groover lectures and publishes extensively on patent law and tactics, both at local patent bar associations and at the AIPLA (the national association for Intellectual Property law practitioners). He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and a Senior Member of the IEEE (the main US professional society for electrical engineers).
He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the Federal and Fifth Circuits, and the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas. He has worked closely with European and Chinese patent firms, and has done legal work for many Fortune 1000 companies in a variety of complex technologies.
