New SharePoint Intranet and Extranet Portal will allow CBSR’s Employees and Members to Connect and Collaborate through SharePoint

“We are excited to use the SharePoint solution to better share corporate responsibility knowledge between CBSR members and employees." - Robyn Hall, CBSR

SharePointHQ, a leading provider of training, consulting and solutions for Microsoft® SharePoint®, announced today that it has implemented a SharePoint-based Intranet and Extranet for the Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR) organization.

Founded in 1995, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility is a non-profit member-based organization that provides resources and works with Canadian companies to improve their social, environmental and economic performance. A globally recognized source for corporate social responsibility in Canada, CBSR is the Canadian representative in a world-wide network committed to corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The SharePoint-based portal allows CBSR to have a secure, centralized portal with advanced document management features, through an employee Intranet and client Extranet. In using the portal, CBSR’s employees and members will be able to share best practices in meeting the social responsibility triple bottom line goal of making a profit, but not at the expense of people or the planet, while mitigating risks and costs. CBSR end users using the portal will also have access to important CBSR resources, tools and announcements.

“We are excited to use the SharePoint solution to better share corporate responsibility knowledge between CBSR members and employees. Collectively the network knows a great deal about advancing company social and environmental practice and we look forward to using the portals to exchange and grow that knowledge over time,” said Robyn Hall, Communications Manager. “Thank you to SharePointHQ for translating our vision into practical portals for use into the future.”

“It’s not often in IT that you have a chance to give back to the community. So, when CBSR approached us, and after we learned what they and its members stood for we were happy to provide a discounted rate on our expertise to CBSR,” said John Rice, SharePointHQ Marketing Lead. “Additionally, the new portal will allow CBSR to scale in size as more and more companies come to recognize the importance of corporate social responsibility and join the CBSR."
