Knit-In to benefit Fanconi Anemia Research Fund and Kaps for Kendall

Burg Simpson Eldredge Hersh & Jardine, P.C., is delighted to announce that the firm is sponsoring the first Knit Away F.A. Knit-In to benefit Kaps for Kendall, taking place in Denver, Colorado. The partners and staff of the Burg Simpson law firm are challenging as many people as possible to join them on Saturday, March 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Denver Tech Center to help them knit hats, all to benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund and Kaps for Kendall.

The sponsored Knit-In event is open to everyone, and event organizer, Gina Clement, is expecting anywhere between 100-200 people to get involved. “ Kaps for Kendall is a perfect example of individuals turning something tragic into something magic! Being involved with this charity and helping them raise money is a privilege.”

Peter Burg, senior shareholder with Burg Simpson said, “ Burg Simpson is delighted to be supporting Kaps for Kendall. This local non-profit does outstanding work to ensure that these handmade hats are distributed to treatments centers around the country for children and adults undergoing medical treatment that results in hair-loss.”

Peter continued, “Burg Simpson is committed to giving back to our local community, whether through the sponsorship of events such as these, or generating awareness and contributions for Colorado non-profits through our recent series of TV commercials, our objective remains the same, to be Good lawyers. Changing lives.”

Fanconi anemia (FA) is a rare, inherited recessive genetic disorder that leads to bone marrow failure. Though considered primarily a blood disease, FA may affect all systems of the body. It is a complex and chronic disorder that is psychologically demanding and is also a cancer-prone disease, affecting patients decades earlier than the general population.

Knit Away FA Knit-In to benefit Kaps for Kendall, sponsored by Burg Simpson, takes place Saturday, March 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn at the Denver Tech Center. Registration is $10 per knitter. Sponsorship and registration forms are available at http://www.kapsforkendall.com. Due to demand, knitters are required to register in advance, no later than March 15, 2011.
