The International Virtual Assistants Association - IVAA (http://www.IVAA.org), the premier non-profit trade association representing virtual professionals worldwide, recently announced the formation of an Australian division of the association to better represent the needs of their Australian members.
“What we’ve found over the years is that our Australian members are hard-pressed to be able to participate in many of the benefits afforded North American members, due to the time difference, and other constraints,” said Jeannine Clontz, IVAA’s current Board President. “And the focus and needs of Australian Virtual Assistants (VAs) varies greatly, even in specific niche areas of expertise. We just weren’t doing a good job of meeting and understanding their needs.”
Longtime Australian Virtual Assistant, Coach, Author and Speaker, Kathie Thomas of Melbourne, will be helping to establish the IVAA-Australia division by leading the division, forming committees, and gathering volunteers in Australia to develop programs geared around their growing VA industry.
While the group will still be a part of IVAA and supported by their Bylaws and Code of Ethics, they will also still be eligible for any and all IVAA benefits whether established in the US or Australia. Any programs or benefits added through the Australian division can also be utilized by any other IVAA member wherever they are located.
“The entire IVAA Board of Directors feels this is a win-win for everyone involved,” remarked Clontz. “Once we have all the legal aspects in place, and establish the Australian division, we can see this expanding into additional divisions in Europe, Asia, and South America, where we already have several members and we see the industry growing.”
If you know of an Australian VA who might be interested in volunteering to help form this division, please contact Kathie Thomas at: IVAAAustralia(at)ivaa(dot)org – find out more at the Australian VA Conference (http://australianvaconference.com/) and meet IVAA’s Marketing Director, Terri Orlowski, who will be on hand at the conference with more information about IVAA!
