It takes a lot of hard work and effort, but it truly is a labor of love and one of our greatest traditions
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 7, 2011
CCC Technologies will celebrate ten years of participation in the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade when the parade kicks off from the intersection of Columbus and Balbo at noon this Saturday, March 12, 2011.
When CCC Technologies’ Vice President of Sales, Jim Poull, first sought to enter the company in the parade back in 2001 he had no idea that ten years later not only would CCC become a popular fixture in the parade but also that the parade would become such an important tradition within the CCC family.
“As I have been told over and over again, by Chicago dignitaries and Parade Officials,” explains Jim, “‘CCC turns the parade green. Without CCC, we would not look so green and make so many parade watchers happy.’ It takes a lot of hard work and effort, but it truly is a labor of love and one of our greatest traditions.”
Each year CCC distributes thousands of green top hats with the company’s logo to parade attendees by marchers on the parade route, and they are affectionately known as “the hat people.” This year will be no different. CCC staff is currently working hard to prepare over 10,000 hats for distribution in this year’s parade.
“One of our favorite post-parade activities is to watch recorded coverage of the parade on television to see the sides of the street turn green as we pass out the hats,” said Senior Account Manager, Jennifer Theesfeld, who serves as CCC’s Unit Marshal in the parade and does all of the parade coordination. “It’s so much fun to get the crowd screaming and cheering for hats. We also challenge each other every year to see who can get celebrities and television crews to put on a hat.”
