New York City startup gives away iPad 2, $1000 to charity for every new hire referred

ZocDoc, the website to find doctors and book appointments online instantly, today launched the ZocDoc Star Search. The national search is a campaign that will give anyone who refers someone hired by ZocDoc the iPad 2 after its release, and $1000 donated to the charity of their choice. ZocDoc is welcoming referrals at http://www.zocdoc.com/starsearch.

Just named the #1 Best Place to Work in NYC by Crain’s New York, ZocDoc is looking to accelerate its national expansion. The company’s goal is to add 15 new employees to its engineering department and hire 150 salespeople across the country in the next three months. ZocDoc also has open positions in the operations and marketing departments.

“We’re in a position right now where ZocDoc is growing faster than we can hire people,” said CEO Cyrus Massoumi. “The ZocDoc Star Search will help us bring more great people to ZocDoc, and allow us to give back in return.”

ZocDoc gives people the ability to search by insurance, find doctors, and make appointments online. Currently in six cities nationwide, the company is looking to serve the majority of Americans in the next 18 months.
