Garnett, KS (PRWEB) March 8, 2011
ATC Truck Covers, manufacturer of custom truck covers for the pickup truck aftermarket, suffered a fire that destroyed their main production building on February 8, 2011. Although this building was a loss, the company announced it is still open for business in a very limited capacity. They switched production to one of their other buildings and are currently only producing water slides.
"The important thing to note is that only one of our four buildings was affected, and that most of the molds we use in the fabrication process are safe," said company owner Bobby Combs. "We've contacted all of our dealers to communicate what's going on and to assure them we'll be taking new orders for truck caps and tonneau covers in as little as 90 days," he said.
ATC, open since 1994, supplies the automotive aftermarket with custom fiberglass truck caps, tonneau covers and bed systems for pickup trucks sold to customers nationwide. The company also sells custom fiberglass products for other industries, such as water slides, bodies and nose cones for wind turbines, motorcycle fenders and other products.
Combs also stated that they would have to relocate to a facility with the capacity to meet their current and increased future demands. "We've already located a few buildings that may work out great. While this is tragic, we're incredibly fortunate that no one was injured. It could all work out to be a blessing in disguise. We're in the process of finalizing a deal and are confident we'll be bigger and better as a result of all of this," he said.
ATC Truck Covers is a privately held firm in operation since 1994 supplying custom made fiberglass products in Garnett, Kansas, about 45 miles southwest of Kansas City, Mo.
