Livingston, NJ (PRWEB) March 8, 2011
George Press Jewelers is calling NJ residents to show their New Jersey pride in a charm design contest which launched on March 1st. The winning designer will receive their custom charm from George Press himself at a special Earth Day evening event on April 21st where the charm will also be available for order with a portion of proceeds going to The Land Conservancy of New Jersey.
For over 30 years, George Press Jewelers has been the premier source for bridal collections, couture jewelry and custom pieces made by George Press. In addition to showcasing the jeweler’s custom design service, the contest theme, “New Jersey has Charm”, is intended to inspire people to create a wearable symbol of what they love about The Garden State. There is no artistic experience or talent required-just a creative and positive idea.
The winner of the contest will see their design come to life with a custom charm made by George Press himself and will also receive a $150 gift card to the jewelry boutique. The runner up will receive a $100 gift card and the 2nd runner up will receive a $50 gift card.
To participate, entrants must submit a charm design that represents New Jersey in a positive way. The design concept can include silver or gold metal, color detail, and or can be crafted into a shape. All designs must be submitted in a readable format like jpeg or pdf by March 28th to Lori(at)thehipevent(dot)com. George Press will pick the top 5 designs and post to Facebook for a public voting process, which will aid in the final decision. The top 3 winners will be announced on April 21st at an invitation-only unveiling ceremony at George Press Jewelers. The public event will feature a presentation on how to go green with your jewelry by restoring old pieces to make them new again. The event will begin at 6:30 and will include light refreshments and beverages.
