Connecticut Author Takes 3rd Place in Reader Views Contest for Best Science Fiction

7 Scorpions: Rebellion, the first of a science fiction trilogy, is an award recipient in the Reader Views Reader's Choice Awards. The book was released in 2010, and the second book, 7 Scorpions: Revolution is due out in the summer of 2011.

Judges are experts in their fields as well as avid readers

7 Scorpions: Rebellion, 978-1-60911-286-8 by Mike Saxton was selected as an award recipient for best Science Fiction by Reader Views Annual Literary Awards. “The annual literary awards were established to honor writers who self-published or had their books published by a subsidy publisher, small press, university press, or independent book publisher.”

The Reader Views Literary Awards are given in 32 different categories which include fiction and non-fiction genres as well as children’s books. There are first, second, and third place (honorable mention) awards in each category. Placement is determined by a point system with a minimum score to reach the top. Judges “are experts in their fields as well as avid readers.”

They have given reviews and publicity for well known authors as well as new authors who are self-published or published by a small press.

7 Scorpions: Rebellion is the first of a post apocalyptic, science fiction trilogy based on the author's dreams. The second book, 7 Scorpions: Revolution is scheduled to be released this year and the third and final installment, 7 Scorpions: Retribution has an estimated release date of 2012.
