Groucho Sports Supply, LLC, a Minneapolis based sports apparel company, is excited to announce their inaugural spring line, set to debut on 03.07.11.

As a company for and by the human-powered sports enthusiast, Groucho Sports Supply's inaugural line features a clean sensibility in it's fresh designs, and the accessible price points are specifically geared towards the athlete with balanced priorities.

Groucho Sports is endlessly inspired and spurred on by the people they meet and the creative/active/progressive things they are involved in. In matching their strong interest in supporting the creative community, each new Groucho line will include a limited edition Artist-Designed product selected by the Groucho team.

The debut Artist-Designed product comes from Kelly Munson, a Minneapolis, MN graphic designer and strong supporter of the cycling community. Kelly is Design Director at mono in Minneapolis. She specializes in creating non-traditional designs for Apple®, Blu Dot® and Parsons The New School for Design©. She also runs Winterborn Studio, a screen-printing side-project that has created work for ARTCRANKâ„¢, Poster Offensive, and Toys in the Attic shows.

As Kelly states for her Groucho Sports design, "I have quite a few cycling jerseys and the ones I like the best are the all-over patterns. They don't show dirt and they are striking from a distance. For my concept, I was inspired by the idea of Scottish Clans; which is kinda how it feels to be a biker, part of a prideful community...a family, really. So I created a "plaid" made out of bike chains. Part punk rock/part Braveheart, in girls and boys colors." Her designs can be found at: http://www.grouchosports.com

A portion of each Artist-Designed product sale goes back to the Artist. Wearable art that represents the sports enthusiast community and financially supports the artists of and in the community... It really doesn't get any cooler than that.
