An online entrepreneurial education organization, Educating for Success, is hosting a contest to encourage entrepreneurs to create business plans to start new businesses. The prize, according to CEO Rhea Perry, is $10,000. Second place is $1,000. Third place is a Kindle.
The Blueprint for Success Contest is open to members of Educating for Success, an online community of entrepreneurs who are learning to use the Internet to build and expand small businesses. The contest is open to anyone who is 18 years old and over who joins the online community. The contest ends on March 13.
“We wanted to offer a project that would not only stimulate creativity but that would also give the winner some money to actually start a new business with,” says Perry, originator of the contest. “We want to do our part to help the country get back on financial track and the best way seems to be to offer a true incentive.”
Contestants have only a three rules to qualify.
1. Be a member of Educating for Success. Contestants must be 18 years of age.
2. Create a business plan, write an essay and create a video presentation.
3. Submit all three for voting.
A panel of judges will select finalists which will then be announced to the general membership. Members will then vote on the video presentations and select a winner.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners at a Home Business Conference hosted by Educating for Success in Destin, Florida on April 17, 2011.
