Brian M. Rabon, president of Birmingham, Alabama based The Braintrust Consulting Group, has been officially recognized by the Scrum Alliance as a Certified Scrum Trainer®.

Brian Rabon has joined an exclusive group of world class trainers by becoming a Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST). There are less than 120 CSTs in the world and only about half of those reside in the United States. Furthermore Brian is the first CST to reside in the state of Alabama, with Florida being the only other bordering southern state with a resident CST.

By becoming a Certified Scrum Trainer® Rabon has chosen the world’s finest platform for becoming an ambassador for Scrum. Rabon says, “Scrum is the most popular agile process for managing software projects. More companies are seeing a return on investment by using Scrum than by using traditional project management processes like waterfall.” Rabon decided to seek out the CST designation in 2009 and has been working diligently over the last 18 months to achieve his goal.

With his CST status Rabon is now able to offer Certified Scrum Master® (CSM) and Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO) courses. Rabon says, “CSM and CSPO certification are the most internationally recognized agile certifications for software development and beyond. Employers throughout the world are asking for them by name, project managers with a Project Management Professional® (PMP®) and CSM designations are in very high demand in today’s economy.” Having a local CST gives Alabama companies a great advantage, as their employees can attend local courses without incurring the costs associated with travel.
