Seventy conference workshops, over three days, will focus on an array of topics around social work.

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Illinois Chapter will be hosting a three day social work conference in Oakbrook (just outside of Chicago) from November 9-11, 2011 at the Doubletree in Oakbrook. With over 70 educational sessions, 150 speakers, an Exhibit Hall full of social work products and services, 18 license continuing education units (CEUs) available, and networking opportunities, this is an event social workers will not want to miss.

This year's conference will be covering the following tracks:

For those of you looking for networking opportunities, we have you covered as well. This year we are adding a networking lounge with internet access, as well as an evening awards/networking reception.

Wednesday's intensive programming will cover topics ranging from a discussion on Domestic Violence, the current state of Illinois's mental health courts, to dealing with trauma and recovery as learned from the tragic shooting incident on Northern Illinois University's campus. This program has been approved for social workers in Illinois as well as these additional states that endorse the CE program. All courses offered through the NASW Illinois Chapter meet the continuing education qualifications for LSWs, LCSWs, LPCs, LCPCs, TYPE 73 and LMFTs licensed in Illinois as required by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. NASW Illinois has applied for CADC approval for select courses. (Will be marked after approval).
