When we found out about Tristan’s diagnosis, we immediately began searching for ways to help.
Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 8, 2011
On Thursday, March 10, 2011, Phagans School of Hair Design will host a fundraiser at both of their salon locations in support of the Tristan Hicks Wellness Fund.
Throughout the day, alumni and students will be on hand at the Clackamas Town Center and Lloyd Center salon locations to provide beauty consultations and salon services like hair cuts, styles, manicures, pedicures, and barbering, and will raffle off prizes for those attending the fundraiser. All profits from salon services will be matched by Phagans School of Hair Design and donated to the Tristan Hicks Wellness Fund.
In February, Tristan Hicks, the 2-year-old son of Phagans graduate Emily Hicks, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Although his family does not have any health insurance, Tristan has already undergone two surgeries with more treatment to follow.
“Emily has been such an amazing part of our Phagans community, first as a student and now as a cadet training to become an instructor,” said Barbara Climaldi, owner of the Phagans School of Hair Design. “When we found out about Tristan’s diagnosis, we immediately began searching for ways to help. We’re hoping to help offset some of his medical costs with the fundraiser on March 10.”
