The modern workforce isn’t just becoming mobile, it already is mobile.

LiquidSpace, the mobile application that helps anyone find a great space to work, today launched into private beta. To start, LiquidSpace is available on the iPhone for free from the App Store with a release uniquely tailored to its plans for the SXSW Interactive Conference. The app can be downloaded here.

LiquidSpace gives mobile workers the ability to find a great space to work now – a space that fits their immediate need, whether that’s a swank downtown boardroom for a VC pitch, an afternoon hack-a-thon in a collaborative space, or a media-equipped meeting room for a day-long brainstorm session with a distributed team.

At SXSW, the company has partnered with leading workspace furnishings company Turnstone, a division of Steelcase, to deploy a network of pop-up workspaces at eclectic venues around downtown Austin, including Arthouse, Copa Bar and Grill, the Hyatt hotel and even a workspace-furnished custom tour bus arriving for the conference and parked nearby.

With LiquidSpace, SXSW attendees will be able to locate, book and securely check-in to these great spaces and get a little work done, free from the frenzy of the show. The annual tech conference is a rite of passage for technologists and entrepreneurs, but offers little in terms of comfortable space in which to effectively get work done.

“The modern workforce isn’t just becoming mobile, it already is mobile. Employers and employees both, are seeking productivity gains while at the same time increasing their use of third places including co-working sites, office business centers, hotel meeting rooms and other flexible venues. Companies large and small are adopting alternative workplace strategies to reduce their current real estate footprints and put what space they have to better use,” said Founder and CEO Mark Gilbreath.

Following SXSW, LiquidSpace will be launching in the San Francisco Bay Area, offering access to a variety of public and private workspaces including prominent coworking facilities, office business centers and private shared offices.

The LiquidSpace app was released today in private beta. It can be downloaded from the App Store here.
