“Our message makes clear that Catholic schools are a plus for the nation and provide a definite value added to American society. It’s vital that the church and the country find ways to sustain and strengthen our schools for the next generation.” -Dr. K

In this age of economic, social and cultural challenges for all schools across America, the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) and EDified Online have teamed together to advocate the need for high quality, college preparatory online curriculum to Catholic schools nationwide.
As the premier organization in America chartered to provide "leadership, direction and service to fulfill the evangelizing, catechizing and teaching mission of the Church”, the NCEA joins EDified Online to encourage and inform Catholic schools of the significance online learning can have in educating their students.
R. Mark Beadle, CEO, Edified Online, said, “ NCEA is known for its great service and advocacy of Catholic school education and I am so pleased that we have formed this partnership.”
Karen M. Ristau, president, NCEA added that “Our association recognizes the vital role online learning can have today, and will have in the future, and we want Catholic educators to embrace that reality as well as we strengthen and expand our schools for the 21st century.”
With experience in providing online curriculum to private schools worldwide, EDified Online offers a partnership model for Catholic schools with grades 6-12 that supplements their existing program with online opportunities. This model not only introduces rigorous college preparatory courses for students, but increased enrollment and community outreach opportunities for the school.
The NCEA and EDified Online work hard at providing and supporting education resources that deliver exceptional quality, respects the high moral standards of the church, and offers growth opportunities for the school and its students. After a thorough examination of products, services, and standards by both organizations, each came to the conclusion that this partnership was "right" for Catholic schools, and right now.
Online learning has become a staple in the post-secondary learning environment and its influence on middle and high school curriculum is growing at an amazing rate. It’s estimated that “close to 15% of the K-12 student population will be engaged in online learning by the end of this year, up from 4% in 2006.” (iNACOL Fast Facts, 2010 http://www.inacol.org/press/docs/NACOL_fastfacts_083010-lr.pdf). Catholic schools and educators need to consider what this form of education may do for them. Through this new partnership the NCEA and EDified Online together stand ready to assist administrators, curriculum directors, counselors and parents in learning about this 21st Century tool and what it may do for them.
