CommonPlaces Makes Flexibility a Reality for Merchant Warehouse Website

CommonPlaces e-Solutions recently launched a custom site for Merchant Warehouse, creating a fresh look and feel and allowing for greater ease of use.

CommonPlaces e-Solutions, a New Hampshire-based web development firm has launched a new website for Merchant Warehouse. Boston-based Merchant Warehouse provides merchant account services, credit card processing and credit card terminals to all types of businesses. The company sought a new website that would improve functionality from an administrative standpoint, and also provide ease of use and appear inviting and aesthetically pleasing to visitors.

Merchant Warehouse turned to CommonPlaces to develop a number of features for the new site. First, a new content management system was implemented on the Drupal platform, as it provided the flexibility Merchant Warehouse desired and that eZ Publish, the company’s old platform, did not provide. This content management system allows Merchant Warehouse to easily edit and update the website’s content without needing a high level of technical expertise. This saves the company time and helps keeps costs low. Flexibility and layout options were made available by using panels in the development of the site.

Additionally, CommonPlaces delivered a custom e-commerce solution that seamlessly integrated with Merchant Warehouse’s existing systems. Web forms were created and integrated with Merchant Warehouse’s customer relationship management system to ensure the website is a successful lead generator.

Effective search engine optimization was a goal for the new Merchant Warehouse website. In order to meet this objective, CommonPlaces set up subdomains that allow for segmentation within the website. These subdomains provide a major benefit in analyzing data and statistics on website traffic. Furthermore, different modules were implemented that determined from where the firm’s website traffic was originating.

“We’re very proud of the Merchant Warehouse website,” noted Mike Machnik, Senior Internet Engineer at CommonPlaces. “Our team thoroughly enjoyed helping Merchant Warehouse achieve their online goals and we’re happy to put our skills towards a project that will breed success for years to come.”

“We could not have been happier with the launch of our new Drupal site”, stated Hal Gudmundsen, Senior Manager of Acquisition and Retention at Merchant Warehouse. “Thanks to the team at CommonPlaces, the transition was seamless and we were able to make the switch without any costly downtime. Since the launch, the new platform has given us great flexibility and the site has handled our traffic levels without any issues.”
