"Atex allows us to learn and make changes to improve our business, which we believe has lots of advantages as we roll-out new sites in the future" Lee Knapp, Freedom Communications, VP Operations
(PRWEB) March 9, 2011
The Lima News of Lima, Ohio, is live with hosted Atex Advertising and http://www.atex.com/solutions/advertising and Atex Editorial content management solutions as part of a master Software as a Service (SaaS) contract for Freedom Communications’ daily and weekly newspapers.
The Lima News is the second Freedom publication to implement the Atex solutions following The Yuma Sun in Yuma Arizona, which went live in mid 2010. The Lima News is using Atex to standardize workflows and reduce daily IT responsibility. The Atex SaaS offering allows Freedom to lower operating costs and optimize business processes through consistent editorial and advertising procedures.
“As we improve workflows and gain efficiency in one location, we can maximize savings by transferring that knowledge to the other locations,” said Lee Knapp, Freedom Communications VP Operations. “Atex allows us to learn and make changes to improve our business, which we believe has lots of advantages as we roll-out new sites in the future.”
Under the SaaS framework, Atex supports Freedom’s advertising and editorial solutions in a secure and fully staffed Atex Data Center, helping to relieve The Lima News’ IT department of some of its day-to-day responsibilities.
“The go-live at The Lima News demonstrates how media companies like Freedom are using Atex hosted solutions to manage the workflows for multiple publications,” said Scott Roessler, CEO, Atex North America. “For many, the ability to free up staff to focus on core business drivers is the immediate benefit of the Atex SaaS offering. We worry about keeping the systems running while media company staff members concentrate on generating new revenues and containing costs. Over time, our customers find that by consolidating business models they can generate new cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across their brands.”
A final benefit for Freedom is the ability to improve the implementation process as each newspaper migrates to the Atex solutions. Continued Knapp: “We went live in Lima on February 1, during the blizzard that hit the Midwest. And it turns out that people were talking more about the weather then they were the cutover. So go-live was a non-event, which was a great thing.”
