Following on from the great success of the International Homewares show in Chicago, Michael Breshgold, the USA Sales Manager for the asthma & allergy friendly™ Certification Program, will be attending Spring Market week in New York City from March 13 – 15. The annual display of the latest in bedding innovations is a key component of the bedding industry. Bedding companies gather to display the newest lines and affiliations. Virtually all bedding companies are represented in showroom in New York City.

“I am extremely proud to be attending this event to represent our Certification Program which has played an important role in fostering product quality improvements in over 10 different home categories that benefit millions of people with asthma and allergies,” said Breshgold. “In fact, we are currently in negotiations with a number of companies who sit on the cutting edge of bedding technology.”

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), in partnership with Allergy Standards Ltd (ASL), develops and uses independent standards for testing a wide range of products from worldwide manufacturers to determine their suitability for families living with asthma and allergies. The asthma & allergy friendly™ Certification Program has already established standards and protocols for 14 different product types over the past 5 years, and continues to produce more. The latest standard is feather and down which is being discussed at this years Market Week. Visit http://www.aafa.org/certified for a full list of standards and protocol abstracts.

“Advancing the cause to create healthier bedrooms and bedding products is what motivates our team,” said ASL’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. John McKeon. “We’re very pleased to be attending this Spring Market week as the key to the growing number of bedding product manufacturers that are leading to make the bedroom an asthma and allergy friendly component of an overall plan to reduce allergens in the home.

Products bearing the Certification Mark prove that their products have undergone rigorous testing to determine their suitability for people with asthma and related allergies, to help reduce their exposure to indoor allergens and irritants – a critical quality-of-life issue for asthma and allergy patients.
