Wilmington Treatment Center reached a major milestone this week when it admitted its 25,000th patient for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

We’ve served 25,000 people and have been inspired by their successes, but there are millions more who need help to recover from addiction.

This week, Wilmington Treatment Center earned the rare distinction of having treated 25,000 men and women suffering from alcohol and drug addiction.

Since opening its doors in 1986, Wilmington Treatment Center has grown from a 27-bed drug rehab facility with a few staff members to a 119-bed facility with a dedicated team of 135 staff. The program has evolved to provide cutting-edge addiction treatment to a diverse group of patients, which includes active duty military who are addicted to drugs or alcohol.

“We are extremely proud of the 25,000 patients who have completed treatment at Wilmington Treatment Center,” said Mandy Anderson-Ille, the drug rehabilitation center’s director of marketing. “This milestone is about more than a number to us; it reflects the clinical sophistication, expertise and dedication that have helped us change so many lives.”

Over the course of 25 years, Wilmington Treatment Center has developed a close-knit network of alumni. The drug rehabilitation center hosts an annual alumni picnic to honor the efforts and achievements of those in recovery and encourages graduates to stay in contact with the facility through Facebook, an e-newsletter and other media.

Having achieved this significant milestone, the staff at Wilmington Treatment Center has laid the groundwork to meet the needs of many more individuals and families in the years to come.

“We’ve served 25,000 people and have been inspired by their successes, but there are millions more who need help to recover from addiction,” said Anderson-Ille. “With 25 years of experience and a strong vision for the future, we are honored to have the opportunity to serve thousands more.”
