Medius, a leading provider of accounts payable (AP) automation and purchase-to-pay software solutions, has appointed Christer Berg as president of Medius Software Inc., the North American subsidiary of Medius. Berg, with more than 20 years in the enterprise software industry, brings a broad base of sales, marketing and operational experience, as well as a successful track record of radically increasing new business development during his tenure as the first U.S.-based president and CEO of QlikTech Inc.

Headquartered in Sweden, Medius has helped over 700 customers in Scandinavia and across Northern Europe to increase accounts payables (AP) efficiency and performance from purchase to pay. With intuitive software solutions that enable companies to quickly automate and optimize AP processes and lower the cost of processing invoices, MediusFlow automates the entire payables process, dramatically reducing data entry efforts, improving invoice matching, approval routing and automatic bookings, eliminating human errors, and uncovering potentially fraudulent practices. MediusFlow gives organizations unsurpassed visibility and control, which results in improved cash flow and enhanced operational performance.

Key Facts:

  • Swedish-based Medius, an established AP automation and purchase-to-pay software provider, is expanding North America presence.
  • Newly appointed president Christer Berg was original CEO of QlikTech in the U.S. and brings 20 years of software industry experience.
  • Medius Software Inc. is working with integration and reseller partners in the U.S., including Berkheimer Outsourcing, which is delivering MediusFlow as a hosted AP automation solution.

“Building on our rapid international growth, it is a natural progression for Medius to invest in expanding our presence in North America,” said Per Nordling, CEO of the Medius Group. “Christer’s deep experience in the technology industry, combined with his excellent track record of successfully growing software companies in the U.S., makes him ideally suited to bring Medius’ recognized European leadership to the global arena, and to North America in particular.”

During the past 20 years, Berg has served as president and CEO at leading enterprises and emerging startups in the technology industry. As the first president and CEO of QlikTech Inc. from 2002 through 2004, Berg was responsible for establishing QlikView as the principal Business Intelligence solution for mid-size enterprises in North America. Under Berg’s leadership, QlikTech’s revenues more than doubled over two years. Prior to his tenure at QlikTech, Berg was president of StreamServe, a provider of enterprise business communication solutions. He also spent 10 years in various executive positions at IFS, a global provider of a component-based, extended ERP solution.

In his role as president, Berg is responsible for establishing and growing Medius in North America through sales, customer and partner development. Medius’ expansion signifies considerable development as the company cultivates new revenue channels through both integration and reseller partners, such as Document Process Outsourcing solution provider Berkheimer Outsourcing, Inc. As one of Medius’ first U.S.-based partners, Berkheimer is not only delivering MediusFlow to help its clients to streamline business processes, reduce costs and further leverage the investment in their existing ERP systems, but also using MediusFlow to optimize the firm’s internal AP processes.

“I am very excited to have joined Medius,” said Berg. “Today’s volatile economy and competitive landscape have left finance departments under constant pressure to do more with less, establish better controls and ensure better bottom-line performance. With MediusFlow, we provide customers with intelligent, intuitive AP automation and workflow solutions to address such demands and eliminate manual and inefficient processes.”
