"As Americans, we must be willing to help those who have made possible the freedom we enjoy. The valuable services provided by Fisher House demonstrate how thankful our Country is for the sacrifice veterans have made," Sandra Horn, President USL&H
Bedford Park, Illinois (PRWEB) March 12, 2011
United Security Life and Health Insurance Company named the Fisher House Foundation as its charitable partner for 2011. Headquartered in Bedford Park, Illinois, United Security Life and Health Insurance Company (USL&H) will be donating one dollar to the Fisher House Foundation for every new business policy that is written in 2011.
Sandra Horn, President, United Security Life and Health Insurance Company (USL&H), shared, “Even during these challenging economic times, we feel it is important to honor our corporate citizenship by financially supporting a worthy cause. When we visualize what attributes go into the type of charity we want in a sponsor, the Fisher House Foundation mirrors those qualities and is an exceptional partner choice. As Americans, we must remember and be willing to help those who have made possible, and continue to make possible, the freedom each of us enjoys. The valuable services provided by the Fisher House demonstrates to veterans and their families how thankful our Country is for the sacrifice they have made.”
A Fisher House is a “home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. Currently, 53 Fisher Houses grace the grounds of dozens of major military and Veterans Affairs medical facilities in the United States and in Landstuhl, Germany. Collectively, they have served more than 142,000 families since the program’s inception. The Fisher House applies 96% of all donated revenue to programs that help military families. As a result of private donations, and corporations, like USL&H, the Fisher House Foundation accommodated 12,000 military families during 2010.
As a way of communicating its corporate commitment to the Fisher House Foundation, United Security Life and Health’s website will have a link to the Fisher House’s website, fisherhouse.org. Horn shared that company employees will also help support the Fisher House by participating in a variety of special fundraising events that will be held throughout the year. USL&H will make its donation to the Fisher House Foundation at the end of the 2011 calendar year.
