Bill Douglas is the Founder of World Healing Day, held annually in hundreds of cities in over 70 nations. See Chase's Calendar of Events: http://www.answers.com/topic/world-healing-day-2011-calendar
World Healing Day is a free global event open to everyone to participate in, or to organize their own local events.
Last year Bill and his wife were flown by the Brasilian government to Brasilia, Brasil, to attend their national celebrations for their 50th anniversary in their capitol. China's Xinhua News Agency sent a reporter to cover this event. It was just one of hundreds of such World Healing Day events being held at 10 am worldwide that day and each year - events the Douglas's have been organizing for years from their Kansas home via travel, telephone, and the internet. According to the South China Morning Post they invested their life savings over the years to evolve this annual vision of human cooperation and healing intention. Douglas was officially recognized by the Governor of Kansas for his global organizing work, and 22 US Governors have recognized the global health & healing work Douglas and his wife have done.
Reality and fiction may have woven together in Douglas's new novel about how human's are continually imagining (imaging-in) their reality with their focus of consciousness.
This year, Douglas released his visionary novel which appears to have predicted the huge change now happening in Egypt, Tunisia, Wisconsin, and other places across our planet. His book was chosen BEST FICTION of 2010 by Spiritual Enlightenment Magazine, who said "no other fiction in 2010 even came close." Douglas's novel "2012 The Awakening" has hit amazon's top sales lists in categories like "visionary," "political," "high tech," on amazon UK, US, Canada, France, and Germany, hitting #1 in Visionary Fiction on Canada's amazon.ca.
This novel is about people learning to follow a deeper "inner voice" that draws them to compassionate solutions that nurture the entire planet, not just a few.
Following the Egyptian uprising, Bill Douglas was contacted by Mohamed Essa, a World Healing Day organizer in Egypt, who joined in the Egyptian uprising. He said that an "inner voice" led him to do so, and he believed that thousands of others in Egypt did the same. He said he did not do it for any party, and was not part of any party, but was drawn to be part of this historic liberation effort. This year's Egyptian 2011 event may be held in the same square where the uprising recently occurred.
Bill Douglas's vision of a healing planet captured the world's imagination in past years, as evidenced by the below media coverage of World Healing Day 2010.
What if human consciousness were focused en masse for a 24-hour period not on fear and desperation, but on an intention for personal and global healing," [World Healing Day's] founders asked. Further details may be found at http://www.worldhealingday.org
