Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) March 14, 2011
TMW Systems, the leading software provider to the trucking and transportation services industries, announced the managed availability release of a new feature in its TMT Fleet Maintenance application that automates repair order creation from driver-initiated return macro messages generated through Qualcomm Incorporated’s Mobile Computing Platforms. The integration with Qualcomm’s electronic onboard recorder (EOBR) application and driver macros can help fleets improve compliance with FMCSA inspection reporting and keep their vehicles in safe working order.
Commented Mike August, senior VP and GM of the Asset Maintenance group in TMW Systems, “We remain very focused on driving an increased level of automation into the fleet maintenance process. This new integration with a return macro message via a Qualcomm Mobile Computing Platform is a valuable addition to our compliance solution set for customers of TMT Fleet Maintenance software. ”
The new vehicle inspection integration feature brings electronic inspection form data into TMT Fleet Maintenance, where it is queued for Inspection Ticket review. Tractor defect reports appearing here can be quickly converted to Repair Orders for vehicle service in TMT Fleet Maintenance software. The Repair Order maintains a link with the Inspection Ticket and when the repair is completed, the mechanic’s confirmation of work performed and satisfactory outcome is transmitted back to dispatch and the vehicle’s currently assigned driver. Significantly, TMT Fleet Maintenance software automatically flags safety-related repairs for highest priority in the maintenance plan.
Additional details about the electronic DVIR integration are available directly from TMW Systems. Current customers of TMT Fleet Maintenance for SQL should contact their TMW technical support teams regarding availability of the feature for their systems.
