Gilman Clark LLC, the Boston-based intellectual property law firm, announced that Shane H. Hunter has joined the firm as partner.
Mr. Hunter joins Gilman Clark from Kilpatrick Townshend in San Diego where he was a partner focused on intellectual property, patent prosecution and counseling. He brings more than 14 years of legal experience and more than five years of engineering experience to Gilman Clark’s highly specialized intellectual property practice. Hunter will lead the opening of a new San Diego office of Gilman Clark.

Bob Gilman and TJ Clark, two veteran attorneys formerly with Mintz Levin, established Gilman Clark in 2010. The firm offers clients a full spectrum of intellectual property counseling. Mr. Hunter, who is 43 years old, has represented all variety of clients from individuals and start-ups to billion-dollar entities. He has successfully developed IP portfolios and also enforced and defended IP claims. Known for his expertise in electrical and mechanical devices, Mr. Hunter is experienced in all phases of patent prosecution.
Mr. Hunter is a graduate of Kettering University, cum laude. He earned his Master’s in Electrical Engineering degree from UCLA and his J.D. from UCLA’s School of Law. He is admitted to the Bar in California and Massachusetts.
