“These businesses owners are already connected to the people who will become, or refer, their next customer”, says Ketan Kotak, Bizily Founder and CEO

There are 13 million professional service companies in the US. They include software developers, marketing consultants, graphic designers, and architects. They predominantly work in 1-20 man shops and rely almost exclusively on referrals to drive their business. “These businesses owners are already connected to the people who will become, or refer, their next customer”, says Ketan Kotak, Bizily Founder and CEO. “They just lack the time or the sales skills to identify those people, organize them and make them productive. Bizily does that for you.”
Kotak has extensive experience growing consulting companies and built Bizily to address the particular challenges faced by service professionals with referral driven business models. Firstly, he recognized the investment many have made building and maintaining business and social networks. He wanted to help people to tap into this resource and put a valuable asset to work in their business. Secondly, he addressed the feast and famine problem that stems from inconsistent business development and the pressures of serving existing clients. His solution here was a simple and easy to use platform that unifies connections and lets users quickly see and take action on the relationships most likely to get new business. While aggregation of social and business networks like LinkedIn and Facebook has become more accessible, Bizily goes big step further and allows users to view relationships in the context of their industry and their business goals. “Bringing all your contacts together is a great first step.” says Sabin Speiser Bizily’s Chief Marketing Officer. “But without organizing your relationships, you are just aggregating the problem. Bizily applies a lens to your social network so you can see the relationships that are likely to bring you business and filter out the noise.”
Bizily has some company in this space with the recent launch of competitors like Nimble and Graphight. Bizily stands out with its emphasis making information contextual and actionable. It also maps connections on a grid based on closeness and relevance as defined by Bizilla, the fondly nicknamed Bizily algorithm. The company will work through a private beta prior to official launch. “Now it’s up to some of the most sophisticated users in this space to tell us how to make Bizily better”, says Manuel Offenberg” Bizily CTO. “We are excited to see our work come to fruition and we anticipate a very positive response from the small business community.”
Bizily is located at Pier 38 in San Francisco.
