Reston, VA (PRWEB) March 17, 2011
When ThunderCat Technology moved last year, they began building out a test lab at the new HQ. Frank Hum, Chief Architect commented on the now fully functional lab, “The purpose was to provide a test bed for customer proof of concepts and demonstrations, and provide a non-classified, non-production environment for testing, training and evaluation of solutions and new products.”
Dan Duenkel, Director of Technology, stated, “The lab includes a primary and secondary datacenter functionality connected by WAN accelerators and throttled by a WAN simulator. This provides a stage for showing and testing storage replication between two datacenters, virtualization of a datacenter, and the ability to show Continuity of Operations (COOP) between two or more sites.”
Dave Swan, Storage Architect, pointed out that “The lab also provides potential partners and customers the ability to quickly run a proof of concept (POC) without having to impact their own production environment or stand up additional equipment in their labs for a product or solution test. ThunderCat Technology engineers work alongside the partner and customer engineers to develop testing requirements, run the testing, and document the findings.”
The world class facility contains best in class technologies and is located right at the 1775 Wiehle Avenue headquarters in Reston and features include Storage Replication and De-duplication, Wan Optimization, Backup and Recovery, Virtualization and Virtualization Sandbox, Virtual Desktop, and Datacenter Asset Inventory and Management Tools.
