PulseTV.com announced expanding its private label daily deal program to include celebrity twitter accounts. Dubbed, the Celebrity Tweet Deal-of-the-Day Program, PulseTV will use its infrastructure to make this a turnkey program: from providing the creative, to managing inventory, shipping, performing telephone customer service, and all other functions related to fulfilling the program.
General Manager and PulseTV co-founder, Anisa Ali, said, “We’ve had an email version of this program in place for years. Presently we have 18 television direct response industry partners, and their 5 million email subscribers and buyers represent the basis of our subscriber base. The Celebrity Tweet Deal-of-the-Day Program is a logical extension of that existing program. Now celebrity tweeters will have a simple way to offer their followers great deals on products everyone uses while also making decent commissions.”
PulseTV.com is in talks with several celebrity tweeters with 1 million plus followers. Each day a tweet featuring a special deal will enter the celebrity tweet stream with a trackable link. The celebrity not only receives a revenue share from all those followers who click and then purchase, but also from any sales generated from retweets.
Ali continued, “This is the very definition of social commerce. The more a celebrity has his/her tweets retweeted, the more sales will be generated. The types of products we offer are mostly under $20 and are discounted up to 85% off of retail. These are real deals. We do not offer coupons like competitors, but goods we ship from our own warehouse.”
While no deals have been inked as of today, Ali believes there will be more than 10 million followers exposed to celebrity daily deal tweets by year’s end.
