Allright Reading and Writing Solutions, a California Department of Education-certified tutorial program, today announced that it is now accepting students in grades 1-6 for its 2011 "Out-of-the-Box Summer Program." Allright Reading and Writing Solutions has partnered with acclaimed television and film writer/director Ty-kisha Stanford. Together, they have created "Out-of-the-Box Summer Program," which merges academics with the visual and performing arts in an entertaining, skill-building, and empowering full-day core curriculum.

“We believe that offering diverse classes stimulates both the left and right brain hemispheres. This benefit also creates a love of learning,” according to Kimberly Frelow of Allright Reading and Writing Solutions.

"Out-of-the-Box Summer Program is an affordable enrichment, yet fun program that combines the arts and education in an engaging manner," says Frelow. "We focus on strengthening students' skills in English and math, while introducing them to new concepts to prepare them for fall. In addition to teaching academics including Spanish, we introduce students to acting, filmmaking, and music production."

As for the importance of arts in education, Frelow's partner for Out-of-the-Box Summer Program, Ty-kisha Stanford who also spearheads Tres Forté, a production company that specializes in film and commercial production, is extremely passionate about the arts curriculum. "I believe it's imperative to expose children to the arts," she says. Stanford has been involved in film and television for more than 14 years. "Out-of-the-Box allows your child the opportunity to enhance her knowledge of the arts, while providing the benefits of an authentic arts experience." She says Tres Forté is vested in sparking and expanding a child's knowledge of theater both in front and behind the camera.

"We believe in celebrating the artist in every child through a hands-on arts experience taught by trained, working artists," says Stanford. "Out-of-the-Box gives children the creative tools that promote self-esteem through academics, visual and performing arts."

Plus, kids can also burn off extra energy by learning the fundamentals of basketball, kickball, flag football and soccer. Frelow says Out-of-the-Box Summer Program also understands the economic duress that many of today's families face. To that end, summer program prices have been competitively set.

"Most summer camps offer one, possibly two of these activities for a significant price increase. But we're offering a high-quality program that won't bust anyone's bank account," says Frelow. She adds, "These kids will have a full day of activities, including a strong academic curriculum, and exceptional arts introduction."

This premiere academic summer program is much needed in a time when California schools are suffering with loss of teachers due to budget cuts. Unfortunately, summertime is also when numerous students tend to forget what they've learned throughout the year. Such issues will continue to hinder students' achievement gap. Fortunately, to better help students, Out-of-the-Box Summer Program has hired credentialed teachers. Last year, Allright Reading and Writing Solutions, helped many of their summer students improve and/or excel in core academic subjects.

With summer fast approaching, Frelow says families must prepare now for summer camp enrollment.

“Out-of-the-Box Summer Program is not only a wonderful opportunity for kids to strengthen their academics, but also a great place to be introduced to the arts at an affordable price that parents can appreciate,” says Frelow.
