The marketplace for TeleSign services is expanding very rapidly, and given that TeleSign has developed the most comprehensive set of phone based authentication and verification services in the business, the future looks very bright.

TeleSign (http://www.telesign.com), the market leader in phone-based authentication and verification services, today announced the opening of a new European headquarters in London and the appointment of Craig Whitney as vice president, EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa.) This expansion and new leadership outside the U.S. will enable TeleSign to more efficiently service its international clients and will support the company’s rapidly growing global operations. TeleSign currently provides verification services for the international divisions of some of the web’s largest and most prominent companies, verifying users in more than 200 countries and 50 languages.

“We are very pleased to have someone with the background and experience that Craig possesses to lead TeleSign in the EMEA region,” said Steve Jillings, TeleSign CEO. “His experience coupled with the unprecedented demand for TeleSign’s phone-based authentication solutions will be a winning combination.”

Whitney joined Axway when it merged with Tumbleweed where he was managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

“I am absolutely delighted to join the TeleSign team -- especially at such an important and exciting time in the company’s history,” said Craig Whitney. “The marketplace for TeleSign services is expanding very rapidly, and given that TeleSign has developed the most comprehensive set of phone based authentication and verification services in the business, the future looks very bright.”

TeleSign’s international expansion is the latest milestone in the company’s success, both within and outside the U.S. TeleSign was recently recognized by Info Security Products Guide as a 2011 Global Excellence Awards Winner by a panel of more than 50 judges representing a broad spectrum of industry voices from around the world.

TeleSign’s real time telephone verification sends an automated voice call or SMS to an end user with a one-time code that is entered into the computer to continue. By forcing users to provide a legitimate phone number, companies prevent bulk registrations, spam, and fraud. Processing over one million transactions per day in more than 200 countries and 50 languages, TeleSign is the undisputed market leader in the phone verification space. TeleSign ensures industry recognized success rates with proprietary features like phone number cleansing, which automatically corrects user errors when entering a phone number, and PhoneID, which detects different types of phones including non-geographic VoIP numbers.
