Denver, CO (PRWEB) March 21, 2011
In response to federal and state changes in healthcare reform, the Colorado Rural Health Center (CRHC) and ClinicNET’s “The Forum 2011” will focus primarily on healthcare reform and ensuring safety net clinics are well-equipped to face changes in the system.
“Changes in the healthcare system are absolutely necessary if we are to create a sustainable long-term solution to our current healthcare crisis. However, modifications in areas of payment and an increase in patients with health insurance will have a huge impact on the providers of our state, especially for rural and urban safety net providers who operate with fewer resources and are already at capacity serving a largely uninsured and underserved population,” said Lou Ann Wilroy, Chief Executive Officer for CRHC. “We’re excited to be able to offer safety net providers with critical support and education to proactively address changes in the system so that they are prepared to effectively serve their patients and their communities.”
The Forum 2011: Essential Perspectives for Safety Net Providers, is a two-day conference that will bring together participants from all over Colorado and the surrounding states. It serves as the premier educational, training, and networking event for all Colorado rural and urban safety net clinics, members of the clinic team, and other interested parties. This is the 11th annual Forum, and the second year in which CRHC has partnered with ClinicNET to put on the event. This partnership allows an expanded reach, which includes other states and clinic types in order to address the issues facing all safety net providers.
In addition to healthcare reform, The Forum will educate providers on health information technology, innovative care models, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Conference organizers say that a few slots are still available for vendors who wish to exhibit their products or services at The Forum.
