Nils Benson and Misha Klein Launch Gentle Giants Animation to Create State of the Art Stop Motion Animation. New independent stop motion animation company launches its first commercial for the Lipton Brisk Iced Tea consumer campaign Portland, Oregon March 2011. Award-winning creatives Nils Benson and Misha Klein have re-joined forces to launch Gentle Giants Animation. Misha & Nils formerly worked together at Mekanism, on the Super Bowl campaign for Brisk Tea, and at Laika, on the feature film Coraline. Now, as Gentle Giants Animation they have created a production company that is as creative and nimble as a boutique while also having global resources. GGA is currently based in Portland, Oregon.

Fans are encouraged to review the films online and submit their own brisk stories in 140 words or less. Two winners' stories will be animated and placed on the website. Now The first Brisk Stories contest winner

Gentle Giants Animation is a new kind of production studio launched by award-winning director(s) Nils Benson and Misha Klein. Gentle Giants Animation focuses on creating visually rich story telling for brands that are inspired by a weave of new and traditional approaches. With a combined 38 years in the film industry, Misha & Nils have developed their artistic eye for strong story telling. Both have won awards as directors bringing a unique blend of talents to the conversation of content and brand. Manifesting itself in the form of virtual or real word-of-mouth advocacy for a brand, Storytelling, (is) the most powerful tool a brand can have to drive growth. They have launched with an initial roster of clients that include, Pepsi.

The Lipton Brisk Iced Tea stop motion campaign has been a series of television commercials featuring stop motion animation, versions of famous celebrities such as " Bruce Lee, " Danny DeVito, " Bruce Willis, " Ozzy Osbourne, " Danny Trejo and " Eminem" Fans are encouraged to review the films online and submit their own brisk stories in 140 words or less. Two winners' stories will be animated and placed on the website. Now The first Brisk Stories contest winner “The Dentist” was produced in Portland Oregon by Gentle Giants Animation Company for Mekanism, the San Francisco/New York based production studio/agency housing film, animation and interactive content creators. The Spot goes live on Brisk Tea's Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/brisk and youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/brisk?blend=2&ob=1 on Monday March 21st, 2011.

Nils Benson: Grew up in a sleeping bag in the woods of Northern Idaho and the small college town of Pullman, Washington with his family. He went to art school in Portland, Oregon at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and at the Fine Art school in Chongqing, Sichuan in the People's Republic of China, where he studied sculpture and traditional Chinese painting for a year. He got his BA in Fine Arts from P.N.C.A in 1989. After working as an Assistant Editor on the Gus Van Saint movie, " My own private Idaho" he decided to move to Los Angeles in 1990 to work with union camera crews on features, commercials and music videos. Since then he has split his time between film and fine art. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon. Misha Klein: The son of a film director, Misha has been tinkering with cameras and animating since he was 5. Most recently, his award winning short, stop motion animated personal film, Fred has been touring the globe on the festival circuit. With an extensive education in theater and animation, he has taught animation for over two years at the graduate level. Misha's professional experience includes work on eight animated television series and countless commercials. He did extensive VFX and character animation on the stop motion feature film, Coraline. Misha has also directed animated spots for such clients as HBO, Levi's and HGTV.
