The Marketing Store Worldwide, one of the world’s largest privately held marketing services agencies, today announced that Simon Marshall has been appointed executive vice president and managing director of North America, a new position for the organization. The changes are effective immediately.

Marshall joined The Marketing Store in 2007 as managing director of Europe based out of London. Under his leadership, The Marketing Store Europe experienced significant growth, establishing its position as one of the leading agencies in the region. In his new role, Marshall will be based at The Marketing Store’s global headquarters located in Lombard, IL.

As executive vice president and managing director of North America, Marshall will oversee and lead the alignment of the three North American offices in Chicago, Lombard, and Toronto with a combined employee base of over 400 representing a diverse group of clients including McDonald’s, Nissan, Coca-Cola North America, and Transitions Optical among others.

“Between our promotional, experiential, digital and loyalty marketing expertise in the U.S. and our digital, direct and CRM expertise in Canada, we have the unique ability in one organization to help our clients connect their marketing efforts to better achieve their business goals. With Simon’s background and experience in managing multi-faceted agencies, he is the perfect choice to drive this approach,” said Howard Katz, chief operating officer of The Marketing Store Worldwide.

In addition to leveraging the combined capabilities of The Marketing Store in support of its clients, Marshall will focus on elevating the profile of The Marketing Store to match its industry presence with the breadth and depth of capabilities it offers.

“I look forward to the opportunity and am excited about bringing the full suite of The Marketing Store Worldwide services to bear for our clients. The Marketing Store is already responsible for some of the largest and most successful marketing programs on the planet and this aligned approach will further enable us to extend our offerings and better connect with consumers,” Marshall added.

Succeeding Marshall as the managing director of The Marketing Store’s London office is Lisa Bonney. Bonney has most recently led client services in the London location as deputy managing director. In addition to these changes, Mark Watson, managing director of The Marketing Store’s US office will be taking on a new role in the global leadership team at The Marketing Store, based in the United Kingdom. Doug Thompson continues as managing director of the Toronto office.

Marshall has over 10 years experience as managing director and CEO in major UK agencies and a career history that includes senior roles in Publicis, OgilvyOne, GGT and Carlson.
