"Last year, our Chorus created a way to reach our community through the power of music with the California Freedom Tour," said SFGMC Artistic Director, Dr. Seelig. "We reached 2,500 people through our concerts, raised almost $20,000 for local grass root charities and became a voice within these cities in the aftermath of Prop 8. We look forward to returning to Bakersfield and Fresno where we enthusiastically begin the southern leg of the tour where we hope to inspire through the spirit of the men and the beauty of their music."

The Chorus returns to the Central Valley this year with increased support and participation. The beneficiaries and co-producers are Bakersfield LGBTQ: and, in Fresno, Gay Central Valley This year's tour is funded in part by the generous support of The James Irvine Foundation and The Bob Ross Foundation. Presenting sponsors, Ketel One Vodka and Bulleit Bourbon are joined by local sponsors, The Bulldog Pride Foundation and Cal State University Bakersfield Gay, Lesbian, Straight Student Network. Special guest on the program in Bakersfield is local LGBT chorus: Rainbow Voices of Bakersfield:

"Our vision is clear: Through joyous music to inspire diverse communities using an inspiring and affirming message of acceptance, building bridges across cultural divides, creating harmony and galvanizing local communities,"  said SFGMC Executive Director, Teddy Witherington. "The Chorus will present a concert of uplifting and joyous music that speaks directly to the experience of seeking freedom."
