OpenSesame eLearning Marketplace Creates an Easy Way for Content Developers to Donate Their Training Courses to Non-Profits

We’re thrilled to be able to connect our technology platform and community of talented elearning developers to leading international humanitarian organizations

OpenSesame (http://www.OpenSesame.com), a fast-growing elearning marketplace, today announced a new philanthropic partnership with LINGOs (Learning in Non Governmental Organizations), a global consortium of humanitarian organizations.

OpenSesame will work with LINGOs (http://www.lingos.org/) to engage the OpenSesame community of elearning buyers and sellers to donate courses and services to LINGOs member organizations. OpenSesame’s goal is to develop additional elearning resources for LINGOs members and bring further attention to LINGOs' unique mission and its innovative approach to solving international challenges.

OpenSesame and LINGOs will formally kick off this partnership Wednesday, March 23 at Learning Solutions 2011, the annual elearning conference organized by the eLearning Guild.

Unlocking the Value of eLearning Across the Globe

LINGOs, a consortium of over 55 international humanitarian relief, development, conservation and health organizations, provides the latest learning technologies and courses from partners so its non-profit members can increase employee skill levels and thereby increase the impact of their programs.

OpenSesame is an open marketplace for elearning that connects elearning buyers and sellers. Buyers can choose from over a thousand training courses in a wide variety of subjects from workplace safety to business skills– all compatible with any Learning Management System.

“Employees of international humanitarian organizations, especially those based in remote locations across the globe, often lack access to sufficient training and education,” said OpenSesame CEO Don Spear. “And LINGOs addresses that need via partnerships like ours. By teaming up with LINGOs, we can help make vital training more accessible and affordable to worthy non-profit organizations and at the same time offer subject matter experts the opportunity to give back by donating their expertise. We’re thrilled to be able to connect our technology platform and community of talented elearning developers to leading international humanitarian organizations.”

OpenSesame will make it easy for OpenSesame elearning developers to choose to donate use of their courses to LINGOs members by adding a simple check box to the course upload process.

“This is just the beginning of a fruitful partnership that will generate resources for LINGOs members around the world, who work to improve people’s lives and the natural environment,” said LINGOs Executive Director Eric Berg. “We rely on partners like OpenSesame to help us fulfill our mission of bringing new elearning courses to our members.”

OpenSesame Supports LINGOs Global Giveback Competition

In addition to seeking more resources for LINGOs members, OpenSesame will join LINGOs, the eLearning Guild and other elearning companies as a co-sponsor of the 3rd Annual Global Giveback competition. This competition brings out the best in the elearning community by challenging volunteer elearning developers to create custom courses for LINGOs member organizations. Starting with the Global Giveback 2 awards ceremony on Thursday, March 24, at Learning Solutions 2011, OpenSesame will work with LINGOs publicize this year’s Global Giveback 3 competition, invite OpenSesame users to participate and host the course entries in its elearning marketplace.

“We believe elearning is the key to unlocking the potential of every learner, no matter how far away they may be, and we're proud to add more resources to LINGOs' tool kit,” Don Spear continued.
