The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) and the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association Foundation (PAMF) are pleased to announce a new scholarship grant, thanks to the generous support of Sporty’s Pilot Shop. This is an opportunity for any PAMA member to expand their credentials by studying for a Recreational Pilot Certificate.

The Sporty ‘s Recreational Pilot grant will provide $5,000 towards classes for Recreational Pilot certification to any aviation maintenance professional who is also a PAMA member and works on aircraft under 6000 lbs. This unique program will allow the winner to increase their value to their employer by having qualifications in both fields, as well as giving them access to the excitement of recreational flight.

We encourage all maintenance professionals to get the word out, and invite qualified friends and colleagues to complete an application. Only one applicant will be selected, so we expect the selection process to be extremely competitive.

Applications for the scholarship are available online at http://www.pama.org/foundation.
The application deadline is May 30th, and the winner will be announced on July 15th, 2011.
