Brad Mountz, the President and CEO of Mountz, Inc., will be speaking at the new AeroDef Manufacturing 2011 exhibition in Anaheim, California. Joining Brad will be Vu Pham, an Senior Engineering Scientist from Boeing’s Satellite and Research Center in El Segundo, California. The presentation will focus on process improvements that create cost savings and quality improvement in manufacturing and calibration. A partial case study of improvements implemented at Boeing will be discussed.

With over 45 years of experience, Mountz Inc. is a specialist in design and manufacturing of torque control products. The event is at the Anaheim Convention Center and takes place April 5th through 7th. The speaking date for Brad is April 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

In the manufacturing and assembly world, tightening, controlling, or measuring the torque of fasteners is imperative for production efficiency and quality. An inadequately tightened fastener can vibrate or work loose: conversely, if the tension is too high, the fastener can snap or strip its threads. Faced with these problems, manufacturers are realizing that precise torque control can spell the difference between a safe, reliable, and economical product and complete disaster. Brad's presentation will touch on process improvement, lean and quality benefits.

Mountz, Inc. will also be exhibiting at AeroDef Manufacturing 2011 exhibition. Mountz will be displaying two new products: battery powered cordless torque tools and pneumatic pulse tools. Mountz will also display it vast offering of torque wrenches, torque testers, torque screwdrivers, power tools and other torque products.

The new FlexPower Cordless Screwdriver by Mountz, Inc. is designed for applications where air or electric power is not easily accessible. Built for torque control and durability, the cordless torque tools are built around the 10.8V and 14.4V high capacity lithium-ion battery platforms. These rugged cordless assembly tools increase productivity and enhance product quality through precision torque control and user comfort. These cordless tools can range as high as 30 N.m.

Mountz, Inc. will also introduce a complete line of shut off and non shut off pulse tools to a growing pneumatic tool lineup branded FlexPower by Mountz. Built for high production environments, FlexPower pulse tools provide durability, power and speed for industrial assembly applications ranging from 4-150 N.m covering bolt sizes M5-M14. FlexPower tools are designed for safe, reaction free operation in straight, pistol and angle configurations with ¼” female hex and square drive options. FlexPower offers comfortable rubberized non-slip grips for easy handling and excellent thermal ergonomics. Low noise decibels, minimal vibration and low torque reaction make FlexPower a safe ergonomic selection.

Mountz, Inc. will also feature its E-DRIV brushless electric torque screwdrivers. Designed for high production environments, the electric torque screwdrivers feature a high performance brushless motor design that provides durability and reduces the standard maintenance costs for electric screwdrivers. Additionally, costly mechanical micro switches have been eliminated in the brushless electric torque screwdrivers in favor of non-contact magnetic sensors. In addition to lower maintenance costs, the brushless electric torque screwdrivers are ESD certified, ensuring less than 1 Ohm at the bit tip. ESD management in power tools ensures product quality, cost savings and a reduction in overall ESD failures.

The AeroDef Manufacturing is a new exhibition and conference designed for aerospace and defense (A&D) manufacturing. The AeroDef event brings together the entire supply chain from every tier to help integrators and buyers understand the impact of technologies and processes.
