Dunn&Co. Selected by University of Florida and FDOT to Produce Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Campaign

Tampa-based Dunn&Co. has been selected by the University of Florida’s “Florida T2 Center” and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to create a new campaign for FDOT’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Awareness Program.

Tampa-based Dunn&Co. today announced their selection by the University of Florida’s “Florida T2 Center” and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to create a new campaign for FDOT’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Awareness Program. With more pedestrians and cyclists dying in Florida than in any other state(1), the program aims to promote conditions for safe and effective travel by foot and bicycle in District Seven.

Funded by a grant from the University’s Florida Transportation Technology Transfer Center, or Florida T2 Center, FDOT’s Pedestrian and Bicycle Program represents an ongoing effort to reduce Florida’s staggering number of pedestrian and bicyclist deaths occurring on t he state’s roads.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation selection committee and the Florida T2 Center Grant Management Team, “Our team was undeniably impressed with Dunn&Co.’s creative approach to this effort. We’ve been doing this for many years, and have never seen a group bring so many interesting ideas to the table. Dunn&Co. showed our team ideas that will breathe new life to this vital safety campaign. We are confident the passion that came through in their presentation of ideas will resonate with the audience and positively impact this cause.”

Dunn&Co.’s new advertising campaign -- You vs. Vehicle: You lose every time – will begin to appear this spring, through outdoor media, printed collateral, television, radio, an educational website and various ambient tactics. Dunn&Co. was selected as the winning agency during a review that included other Florida-based agencies, and based on its presentation to committee members from both the University of Florida and FDOT.
