Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) March 22, 2011
Planned Parenthood's big pink bus will roll into Cleveland on Wednesday, March 23, from Noon-1:30 p.m. to energize a group of diverse local supporters from Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio (PPNEO). The crowd will join together at PPNEO’s Cleveland Health Center, 7997 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, for a day of action to highlight the preventive and lifesaving services Planned Parenthood provides at health centers throughout Northeast Ohio, and to support continued funding for women's health care.
The supporters will gather for a “Stand with Planned Parenthood” rally to call on their elected officials to reject the extreme proposal that would bar Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funding for preventive health care, including lifesaving cancer screenings, family planning, birth control, and testing for sexually transmitted infections, as well as Medicaid.
Speakers invited to participate include: U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown, Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, Congressman Denis Kucinich and Connie Schultz. Other speakers to include PPNEO patients, center staff and volunteers.
Planned Parenthood of Northeast Ohio (http://www.PPNEO.org) provides essential reproductive health care, family planning services and sexuality education to 78,000 women and men at 16 health centers in 21 counties throughout Northeast Ohio. More than 95% of PPNEO’s services are preventive. PPNEO strengthens individuals, families and communities by promoting healthy and responsible decision making about parenthood, relationships and sexual health.
