Today ipConfigure announced the availability of its Surveillance Cloud Service for IP video surveillance applications. The service will be managed by ipConfigure and hosted by Rackspace, a leading provider of global hosting services.

ipConfigure’s Surveillance Cloud Service is based on the company’s flagship Enterprise Surveillance Manager which has a proven track record of scalability and ease of use. The Surveillance Cloud service is ideal for one to four camera installations because it requires no hardware other than an IP camera and router with broadband Internet access. Monthly subscription fees start as low as $.99 per month for live view only to $29.99 per month for 30 days of video storage. Customers access the Surveillance Cloud with Internet Explorer from any PC. ipConfigure supports over 400 IP camera models including the entire line of Arecont, Axis Communications, IQinVision, Pelco Sarix, and Sony cameras. The service also has integrated support for Axis’ One-Click Camera Connection, making it easy for customers to include Axis cameras in the system regardless of Internet service provider, routers or firewall settings.

“Network video has seen great success in mid to large camera count systems, however business owners who only needed a few cameras to protect their properties have traditionally been relegated to using outdated analog technology with DVR-based storage,” said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications Inc. “The real beauty of hosted video, aside from the scalability, operational and cost-savings benefits, is that enables the small business owner to enjoy the power of IP video surveillance.” The Surveillance Cloud can also be hosted by a qualified reseller in a data center of their choice. Resellers can get started with a private label version of the Surveillance Cloud for with a minimal upfront investment.

“Video surveillance as a service is appealing to the small shop owner who wants the convenience of a web-based CCTV service with minimal capital expenditure. No longer is it necessary for the owner to invest in on-site DVR or spend time learning how to operate and maintain it,” stated Steve Lewis, Chief Operating Officer for ipConfigure. Customers who are interested in trying out the Surveillance Cloud can register for a no cost 30 day trial at http://www.ipConfigure.com.
