Stonehenge Productions announced the release of its first Social Activism FilmApp in support of the nationally acclaimed documentary film, Race to Nowhere.

Vicki Abeles, a concerned mother turned filmmaker created the documentary, which aims the camera at the pressure-cooker culture that has invaded America’s schools and our children’s lives, destroying our children’s love of learning and feeding an epidemic of unprepared, disengaged, and unhealthy students.

The Race To Nowhere Film App (http://bit.ly/gRvEee, Available on iTunes App Store) is the first of its kind to offer the ability for users to record and share a personal testimonial about the education system in our country, the impact it has had on them, and the changes they would like to see.

“With over 1700 screenings in 47 states and 20 countries, Race To Nowhere is resonating with hundreds of thousands of parents, students, teachers, medical professionals and universities,” said Director Vicki Abeles. “The FilmApp provides an important means by which viewers can add their voice and become advocates for change.”

Users can record a video testimonial and upload it to the Race To Nowhere YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/ReelLinkFilms?feature=mhum). The Race to Nowhere FilmApp also allows users to get involved on a political level by facilitating direct communication with the U.S. Department of Education urging change.

Race to Nowhere is inspiring a national grassroots movement and the App is an important tool for supporting the social action campaign and the effort to organize parents, educators and all of those concerned about the health and education of our children. NBC Evening News, Katie Couric, The Today Show and the NY Times have recently featured the film.

“We are proud to be a part of the Race To Nowhere movement,” said Mark Smillie, founder of Stonehenge Productions. “As a pioneer in the FilmApp market, we continue to develop new features within FilmApps that will engage the audience and enable social interaction on a broader, productive scale. The Race To Nowhere FilmApp, with its social activism capabilities is just one example of this.”
