Former Adify and Cox Enterprises’ executive, Rodney Mayers, joins the Proximic team to spearhead their continued growth

Rodney is a perfect fit for our senior management team and with his addition we are placing an industry veteran in charge of a core area to our next phase of evolution

Proximic, an innovator of real time data solutions for the contextual, brand protection and audience interest space, has made a key addition to its executive team by tapping digital media industry veteran Rodney Mayers to serve as the company's Senior Vice President of Business Development. In this role, he will lead the company's efforts to build strategic partnerships across the display-advertising ecosystem and will play an integral role in helping shape the company’s next phase of growth.

As the online advertising industry continues to evolve rapidly, being able to maintain a leading position within such a highly competitive market requires the attention and skills of a seasoned professional with a solid reputation for finding and facilitating key opportunities. Mayers brings to Proximic extensive industry knowledge and a holistic view of the ecosystem that will have an immediate impact on the company’s ability to accelerate the acquisition of new prospects and drive business growth.

"Rodney is a perfect fit for our senior management team and with his addition, we are placing an industry veteran in charge of a core area, a critical component in the next phase of our evolution," said Philipp Pieper, CEO of Proximic. “Both our customers and Proximic as an organization, will benefit tremendously from Rodney’s insights and experience in the digital landscape. Rodney will take the lead in building long-term and impactful relationships with our partners.”

Mayers’ diversified 15-year background brings with it a deep respect and understanding of traditional media and a unique perspective about the online advertising industry and digital media. Before joining Proximic, he had previously served as COO of Adify and played an instrumental role in the acquisition of Adify by Cox. Prior to Adify, he held senior executive positions in Business Development, Strategy and M&A at Cox Enterprises in Atlanta, Georgia. His digital life began at Prodigy Communications in White Plains, NY. Mayers has also worked in advertising, broadcasting and Public Television.

“Proximic has developed some of the most compelling technology I have seen in the online advertising space in a very long time,” said Mayers. “Content matters and context matters even more. If as an industry we are here to help brands get their messages to the right place, they need accurate data on what is happening at the page level, not just the site level. People consume content at the page level, pages are dynamic and solutions need to be dynamic. I joined Proximic because of their unique and superior contextual pattern matching technology. I was impressed with their ability to scale their technology to serve customers globally, reliably, and in any language without the effort and costs associated with traditional semantic approaches. It’s absolutely incredible what they have built here. I am very excited about Proximic’s future and am happy to be joining this talented and motivated team.”
